Our Response to COVID-19
We have big plans for next year! We are working hard in the planning stages right now as we anticipate possible scenarios for the fall. Assuming we will be learning in-person in the fall, we are making plans to safeguard the health of the whole school community, to make school a prayerful, joyful, thoughtful place, and to address students’ learning needs thoroughly. We will emphasize community, positive relationships, and a renewed commitment to a culture of growing in faith and learning every day. We are eager to have your children join us! Please read below the selection of testimony from our parents from our work this school year. Expect more good things and ever-improved outcomes for the 2020-21 school year.

Bravo! Your team is doing an excellent job with this transition. Great messaging. Great flexibility. Great positive attitude.
Mrs. McSherry, Parent of Kindergartner
If the rest of the country could see how Saint Andrew Catholic school has handled this, it would set a new bar for academia.
Mr. & Mrs. Diana, Parents of 6th Grader
Saint Andrew went above and beyond during this time of unrest to continue teaching our children and for keeping us informed of any changes that may affect us.
Mr. & Mrs. Wolfinger,
Parents of 1st & 3rd Grader
Thank you for supporting our children and we are lucky to have a great team supporting them. It’s been a lot this week- but we are ok with that!
Proud of our school, teachers, staff, and kids!
Parent of K and 5th Grader
I am so thankful for the continuity and structure this schooling has provided for the kids, as well as the flexibility and grace of the SAS staff.
With Governor Wolf's order to close schools for the safety and well being of our students on March 16, 2020, Saint Andrew joined the other schools across the Diocese of Harrisburg to continue providing our students with instruction through distance education. The Pennsylvania Department of Education strongly encourages all Pennsylvania schools to provide some type of continuity of education for all students in the most appropriate and accessible ways possible, while also honoring the Governor's guidance for aggressive social distancing. Continuity of education is the broad term given to educational practices that occur in the event of a prolonged school closure. Please note that our plan will continue to evolve and will be updated throughout the school closure. Click here to view our detailed comprehensive plan.
Below is a list of free educational resources available to all help children of all ages during school closures. Feel free to use these to enrich your child's experience of learning at home. We will continue to add to the list over the next few weeks.
READING & LITERACY
Although our students and teachers are not in school, they continue to stand out in wonderful ways. From sewing masks for healthcare workers, to making signs, to keeping kids connected. Our students and teachers know how to make us proud that they are part of our St. Andrew family.
